The author outlines that facilitation is not presenting content but creating an experience through discussion, problem-solving, questioning, listening and other skills not just talking. This leads to the idea surrounding online facilitation which requires all these skills to be applied to the virtual space. The use of applications, software, and the internet are key in enhancing the learning experiences through online facilitation.
In order to ensure the skills are being exercised online, since it's natural different from face-to-face facilitation, the lecturer or trainer must change their methods of teaching to become an online facilitator.
